Aspia appoints ex-PwC chief Sofia Götmar-Blomstedt as Senior Advisor

Nordic professional services firm Aspia has appointed Sofia Götmar-Blomstedt – the former CEO of PwC in Sweden – as Senior Advisor.

In her role, Götmar-Blomstedt will join the Management Team and act as a sparring partner on strategic decision-making, with a focus on key commercial areas including company direction, growth, commercial operations, client segmentation and pricing.

Aspia was founded in 2018, initially as a business focused on accounting and payroll management. Its foundation was built through the acquisition of parts of PwC and KPMG in Sweden. In the years since, the firm has completed several further acquisitions – including Skeppsbron Skatt and the outsourcing business of Accountor – to accelerate its growth and broaden its profile to become a broad accounting and advisory business.

Today, Aspia has more than 3,000 employees across over 100 offices in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway. In the coming years, the consulting firm aims to expand further across Scandinavia and Northern Europe.

“Our position is strong and we have clear momentum in the business. Our industry is evolving rapidly, and client expectations for high-performance support are increasing. Bringing in Sofia is a natural step as we continue to build the ultimate growth engine for our clients. Her strategic depth will be vital as we turn operational complexity into clarity for the organisations we serve,” said Ola Gunnarsson, CEO of Aspia.

Commenting on her appointment, Götmar-Blomstedt said: “Aspia Group is already a powerhouse, and what stands out is its clear ambition to keep building on that foundation. The combination of strong local expertise, a growing Nordic platform and a forward-looking use of technology creates real momentum for clients. That is what made this opportunity so compelling to me. I look forward to contributing to that journey.”
