Artefact expands in Germany with acquisition of The Nunatak Group
Artefact, a global consulting firm for data and AI transformation, has expanded its presence in the German market with the acquisition of Munich-based The Nunatak Group.
Founded in 2011, The Nunatak Group has a team of around 50 consultants and AI engineers based in Munich, Berlin and Zurich. The consulting firm supports clients across four practices: AI Strategy & Growth, People & Organisation, Operating Models, and Marketing & Sales Transformation. It also operates an AI & Data Lab and provides training services.
For Artefact, the acquisition adds momentum to its growth in the DACH region, following the acquisition of Explorate AI in October 2025 and the recent opening of offices in Munich and Berlin.
“This partnership marks a decisive milestone in Artefact’s strategy to triple in size by 2030, in which DACH is bound to play a central role,” said Vincent Luciani, Executive Chairman of Artefact. “We are building the platform to become the leading data and AI consulting partner for German corporations by the end of the decade.”
Luciani said that combining Artefact’s existing German business with The Nunatak Group will create a single end-to-end AI transformation partner for clients in Germany, spanning board-level strategy, technology design and implementation, human-centred change management and upskilling. The combination will also deepen Artefact’s access to key sectors, including financial services, insurance, media and energy.
As part of the combination, The Nunatak Group founder Robert Jacobi will become CEO of Artefact in Germany. He has been given a mandate to more than triple the business in the DACH region by 2030. “With Artefact, we have found a strong global partner that will allow us to significantly expand our offering in the DACH region and grow faster,” said Jacobi.
The acquisition in Germany continues a run of deals for Artefact, following the recent acquisitions of Belgian data science firm Agilytic and process automation specialist OFI Services.
