Poland's top consulting firms for the private equity sector

Poland’s private equity and venture capital association (PSIK) has unveiled the winners of its 2020 awards, showcasing the consulting firms that provide the best merger & acquisition services to financial investors.

The Nagrody PSIK awards have over the years grown into Poland’s leading ceremony for excellence in the private equity industry, bringing together the crème de la crème from the worlds of corporates (corporate venturing experts), private equity firms, venture capitalist firms and the cohort of advisors active in the space – investment bankers, strategy consultants, transaction consultants, tax advisors and lawyers.

Four of the nine categories are dedicated to consulting categories, with the top prize in the most prestigious ‘strategic and commercial advisor’ segment going to Bain & Company for the second time in three years. From its base in Warsaw, Bain & Company advised on over 25 projects for private equity funds on the Polish market last year, with a total deal value of over €10 billion.

Jacek Poświata, Managing Partner of Bain & Company for Poland and the Central Eastern European region, said that he is delighted with the recognition, stating that “at Bain, working with private equity funds is part of our company's DNA.” He added, “We thank our clients for their trust.” Poland's top consulting firms for the private equity sector Recommended in the strategy consulting category are arch rival Boston Consulting Group (which won the award in 2019), the Polish arm of OC&C Strategy Consultants and the Corporate Finance wing of PwC.

In the financial and tax advisory category, EY took the top accolade, ahead of Big Four rivals Deloitte and PwC, and TS Partners, a Warsaw-based consulting firm specialising in transaction services, particularly in due diligence, valuations and financial modelling.

Poland’s leading M&A advisory title went to PwC, which edged ahead of Big Four peers Deloitte and KPMG, while Vienna Capital Partners were recommended for their dealmaking services to the private equity community. Founded in 1998, Vienna Capital Partners today has offices in Vienna, Warsaw and Prague.

Legal consultants lauded by the Polish private equity and venture capital association are Gessel (overall winner), global firms Baker McKenzie and GreenbergTraurig, and local Polish player Mrowiec Fiałek.
