Tomasz Marciniak succeeds Marcin Purta as McKinsey's Poland boss
Global strategy consulting firm McKinsey & Company has appointed a new Managing Partner for its Polish division: Tomasz Marciniak.
Tomasz Marciniak succeeds Marcin Purta, who held the position for the last four year and has now stepped down having reached the end of his term in office. Purta remains with McKinsey & Company, and will focus more on client projects in Poland and in the region.
Reflecting on the period, Purta took to LinkedIn to state: “It was a privilege to lead the Polish team and serve so many great clients! There have been numerous new client introductions, a broadening of our capabilities [especially in Digital, Analytics and Implementatio], as well as fantastic initiatives like our ‘25 under 25’ contest with Forbes – and the challenge of the pandemic.”
“I have no doubt that McKinsey will develop further under Tomek's leadership,” he added.
Marciniak leads a team of 16 partners and over 120 consultants based in Warsaw, and takes end responsibility of all aspects of business, from client management and project delivery to internal operations, thought leadership and human resources.
During his 12-year career at McKinsey, Marciniak supporting clients – across industries such as energy, technology, financial services, private equity and government – in over 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East. He specialises in defining new strategies, business transformation, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, agile and digital.
Prior to stepping up to the top role, Marciniak was a partner and responsible for Digital McKinsey, which saw strong growth under his supervision. He also has contributed to a number of high-impact thought leadership pieces of McKinsey, including ‘Poland 2030’, ‘Digital Challengers in the next normal’, ‘Shoulder to shoulder with robots’ and ‘AI Revolution’.
Commenting on his new role, Marciniak said: “It is an honour and a privilege to serve as the leader of McKinsey’s practice in Poland, continuing 27 successful years of our legacy in the country. I am looking forward to it!”
In Europe, McKinsey is led by company veteran Magnus Tyreman, who took over the reins from Pal Erik Sjatil in September last year.
