L.E.K. Consulting launches fifth European office in Madrid
Global strategy consulting firm L.E.K. Consulting has established an office in Spain’s capital city of Madrid.
The new hub is the firm’s fifth in Europe, operating alongside bases in London (global headquarters), Paris, Munich and Wroclaw, and twentieth globally. “We have long aimed to expand our services to clients in Spain,” said L.E.K. Consulting’s European head Clay Heskett on the firm’s market entry into the €1.5 billion Spanish consulting market.
“We have been working in Spain for many years” said Heskett, particularly on strategy and merger & acquisition projects. Having delivered its services with fly-in teams from other offices, the firm has now taken the step to install an on the ground team, led by partners and seasoned consultants Jacqueline Thompson and Carmen Morales Garcia.
The Madrid team of L.E.K. Consulting provides strategy advice (strategic planning, market entry, commercial strategy) and transaction due diligence (commercial due diligence, sell and buy side) to corporations and investors, with a focus on clients in the consumer goods, healthcare, life sciences, retail and private equity sectors.
Jacqueline Thompson and Carmen Morales Garcia both bring extensive experience in these fields to the firm. Thompson joins from Strategy&, where she was a partner focused on leading strategic and commercial due diligence projects work in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
Earlier in her consulting career, she served as Spain country manager of strategic boutique Candesic, served strategy consultancies Booz Allen Hamilton and Bain & Company, and worked as an independent consultant and interim manager. She also has corporate experience, with over ten years in senior management roles across a variety of industries.
Garcia previously was a partner at PwC, and before that she spent eleven years at L.E.K. Consulting in its London office. She has more than seventeen years of consulting experience across Europe, encompassing a variety of disciplines including strategic planning, market entry strategies, pricing strategies and transaction due diligence on both the sell and buy sides.
“We are excited to be investing in Spain,” said Heskett. “It strengthens our ability to serve clients in Spain as well as global clients with an interest in the Spanish market, and helps us address the increased demand for our services in the region.”
