French HR tech firm Skello targets European expansion after €200 million investment

French HR tech firm Skello has secured a €200 million investment from Bridgepoint, with the aim of accelerating its European expansion and further strengthening its investments in artificial intelligence. Bain & Company and L.E.K. Consulting provided M&A advisory support on the transaction.

Founded in 2016 by Quitterie Mathelin-Moreaux and Emmanuelle Fauchier, Skello provides technology solutions that help businesses manage their frontline workforce, covering areas such as scheduling, administrative processes, compliance and operational performance.

Headquartered in Paris, with additional hubs in Lille and Barcelona, Skello employs around 400 people and serves approximately 30,000 businesses and 700,000 daily users.

With the backing of Bridgepoint, a leading European middle-market investor, Skello plans to pursue a three-pillar growth strategy: consolidating its leadership position in France, accelerating its European expansion, and expanding the capabilities of its platform.

The strategy will be supported by further investment in technology and artificial intelligence, targeted acquisitions and the expansion of the team, with plans to hire around 100 additional employees in 2026.

Commenting on the investment, co-founder Quitterie Mathelin-Moreaux said: “Frontline workers represent nearly 55% of Europe’s workforce and are too often left behind by digital transformation. We created Skello to give them tools built around their daily operational realities. This transaction gives us the resources to accelerate our European development, AI investments and market consolidation strategy. Bridgepoint brings exactly the expertise we need for this next phase of growth.”

The deal

Under the transaction, Bridgepoint will invest approximately €150 million and become Skello’s majority shareholder, acquiring a reported stake of between 40% and 50%. Skello’s founders, management team and existing investors Partech and XAnge will continue to invest alongside Bridgepoint.

L.E.K. Consulting advised Skello on the transaction, conducting strategic vendor due diligence and preparing the market analysis shared with potential buyers during the sales process. The engagement was led by partners Maxime Julian and David Bishop.

On the buy-side, Bridgepoint received strategic due diligence support from Bain & Company The engagement was led by partners Thibaud Chabrelié and Simon Breysse.

Jean-Baptiste Salvin, Partner at Bridgepoint, said: “Skello brings together everything we look for: clear market leadership, strong growth momentum, a differentiated product, and a European market that remains largely underserved and fragmented. Frontline teams represent a significant share of Europe’s workforce and have growing needs around digitalisation and operational management. We are convinced that Skello has the foundations needed to build a leading European technology company.”
