Sia Partners has strengthened its team in home market France with the acquisition of Uside, a 30-strong change management consultancy.

The acquisition, its first in France since the bolt-ons of agile specialist nod-A and marketing agency Fove (disregarding a venture investments), lifts the headcount of Sia Partners in the country through the magical 1,000 employees barrier. Globally, the consultancy now has 1,900 consultants and staff across offices in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia.

Adding to its expansion in France, a €7.3 billion consulting market, Sia Partners has also opened an office in Nantes, its third alongside Paris (headquarters) and Lyon (established in 2012). “These two developments cement our position among the top five management consulting companies in France,” said Matthieu Courtecuisse, the founder and CEO of Sia Partners.

Founded in 1990, Uside is a boutique consulting firm specialised in people behaviour, culture and human capital. Based on scientific methods and an own change methodology, Uside helps its clients with addressing the people side of change during their strategic and organisational transformations.

Uside’s offerings cater a range of different situations, from the development of a leadership culture or educating managers on a new performance management framework, to supporting post-merger integration or a large scale system implementation. Its track record includes working with two thirds of CAC 40 companies.

Courtecuisse: “We are delighted to welcome Uside. People is at the heart of (digital) transformation, and Uside’s leading expertise in people management will deepen our capabilities which will benefit our 500 clients worldwide.”

Following closing, Uside will remain to operate under its own brand and as an autonomous entity. The firm’s three partners including founder Eric Albert will join Sia Partners’ French management team. Albert said: “Our joining of forces is a natural step – we have known each other for a long time, have worked together on projects and share the same vision on business transformation.”

Founded in 1999, Sia Partners generates revenues of €310 million, of which €170 million is earned in France. The firm’s strategy aims to double in size to reach 3,000 employees and €500 million in fee income by the end of 2023.
