McKinsey promotes Gustaw Szarek to partner in Warsaw office

Global strategy consulting firm McKinsey & Company has a new partner in Poland: Gustaw Szarek.

The new partner has been with the firm for just under a decade, having joined as a Senior Business Analyst in 2012. Prior to McKinsey, Szarek gained experience at Polish media house Agora and had a brief stint as an entrepreneur.

An expert in the field of growth strategy, restructuring and operational transformation (with particular emphasis on performance management) as well as the application of new technologies, Szarek mainly advises clients in the energy and gas, mining and high-tech industries.

During his nine years at the US-headquartered consulting giant, Szarek advised and supported clients on six different continents, including Europe, the Americas and Asia.

“I support clients across the entire change life cycle, with strong focus on value creation delivered through operational efficiency improvement, mindset and behaviours change – underpinned by a strong digital toolkit,” explained Szarek, who holds a master’s degree from the Warsaw School of Economics, specialising in Business Informatics.

Szarek also has contributed to a number of McKinsey & Company publications over the years, including the reports ‘Climate neutral Poland 2050. How to turn a challenge into an opportunity’ and ‘The AI ​​revolution: How artificial intelligence will change business in Poland’.

In Warsaw, McKinsey & Company has a team of over 120 consultants, led by a 16-strong partner team. The office is headed by Tomasz Marciniak, flanked by senior partners Daniel Boniecki, Omar Costa and Jurica Novak.
