Hot on the heels of expanding into France, Metyis has entered the Italian market.

The expansion into Italy lifts Metyis’ footprint to 14 offices in 9 countries (13 of which are in Europe), and sees the firm continue a period of rapid growth across the continent. With its roots in the Netherlands, Metyis has grown to over 1,000 staff.

After pushing into Switzerland (August 2021) and France (October 2022) through deals with local players, the foray into Italy builds on an inorganic growth strategy, with the duo Sasha Wijeyesekera and Paolo Pellegrini brought on board to establish and build out the new venture.

Wijeyesekera, who will spearhead the Italian practice, is a digital strategy and transformation expert with over a decade of expertise in digital marketing. Prior to joining Metyis, he was a senior member at Jakala, a fast-growing European consultancy headquartered in Italy.

Pellegrini brings extensive experience in data science and artificial intelligence to the firm. He previously led the Data & AI offering of Jakala, and before that he spent eight years at consulting firms Envision Reply (the consulting arm of Reply) and Partners4Innovation (an Italian business performance consultancy).

“Together with Paolo, the team we’re building here in Italy will provide capabilities in the area of strategy, data and analytics. We are very pleased to being part of the Metyis network,” said Wijeyesekera.

In the Italian market, Metyis will aim to combine the best of its global expertise and capabilities with its local knowhow. “We change current business consulting paradigms by truly partnering with our clients, underpinning our strategy and creative services with data-driven expertise and technology,” said Pellegrini.

Yogen Singh, Senior Partner and Executive Board Member at Metyis, welcomed the new Italian division to the firm: “We are delighted to now also be active in Italy. They will not only help build and grow our firm in Italy but will also strengthen our firm globally.”
