Romanian team of Levi9 moves into new office in Iasi
IT consultancy Levi9 has moved into a new office in Iasi, accommodating its growing team in the city and aimed enhancing its work environment for Romanian staff.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, Levi9 is a technology services partner for medium and large size businesses in the Benelux. Most of its 1,200 staff are however based in Eastern Europe, including in Serbia, Romania and Ukraine – they provide nearshore IT services to the firm’s clients.
Launched in 2007, two years after Levi9 was founded, the Iasi office has been an integral part of the firm’s growth and success.
Located in eastern Romania, near the border with Moldova, Iasi is a university city with a strong base of IT and data engineering talent. By 2017, Levi9’s Iasi office had grown to 150 staff, and over the past period that number has risen to over 300 employees today.
To accommodate its larger team, Levi9 has moved into a new location in the Silk District. “Levi9's expansion in Iași highlights our continuous growth and recognizes Romania’s vital position as a strategic IT hub,” said Angelina Best, CEO of Levi9.
Anca-Dana Gafițeanu, Delivery Centre Director in Iasi, added that the new office will benefit the firm’s services, staff wellbeing, and sustainability footprint. “This new office is more than just a workspace; it reflects our strong commitment to our team and the local community. With the talent we have in Iasi, we will continue to deliver exceptional services to some of the most respected brands in Europe.”
“The premises are designed to inspire our team and cultivate a culture of collaboration and innovation. By embracing novel, flexible work arrangements, we aim to better meet the needs of both our staff and the local IT communities. And our office has a BREEAM certification, aligning with our values of environmental responsibility.”
Located relatively close the city center of Iasi, the Silk District is new mixed-use project (delivered in 2023) with over 100,000 m2 of office space and over 1,500 high quality apartments for residents. The area also offers facilities (retail, services, leisure, fitness) and over 40,000 m2 of green spaces and promenades.
Mihail Vasilescu, Partner at Prime Kapital (the developer of the Silk District), welcomed Levi9 to the development. “We are truly delighted that Levi9, one of the most ambitious technology companies in Iasi, is joining the Silk District community. We look forward to seeing their business thrive in this state-of-the-art office building.”
Levi9’s other IT delivery centres are based in Belgrade, Novi Sad, and Zrenjanin in Serbia, and Kiev and Lviv in Ukraine.
