BearingPoint and ABeam Consulting expand strategic alliance to 4 continents
Two of the largest independent consulting firms in their respective regions, BearingPoint (Europe) and ABeam Consulting (Asia), have agreed to expand and deepen their longstanding strategic alliance.
The collaboration between the two award-winning consulting firms goes back to BearingPoint’s early days as an independent business, having spun-out from its parent. Over the years, they have worked together as preferred partners in their respective markets, in areas such as business development, client service, and project delivery.
“We’ve been united in a trusted, long-term strategic alliance since 2011,” said Matthias Loebich, Managing Partner of BearingPoint. “This alliance has enabled both firms to extend our capabilities and client offerings in Europe and Asia.”
“Over the last years, we not only successfully won and supported numerous global transformation projects in our existing customer base, we also won and supported new customers for both firms. Among these were several global transformation projects for multinationals.”
From two to four continents
Building on their partnership, BearingPoint and ABeam Consulting are now taking their cooperation to the next level.
This will see the consultancies add two more continents to their geographic scope, with the US the key area of focus for the coming period. This expansion comes naturally for both firms – since their initial agreement they have expanded into the US organically. ABeam Consulting currently has offices in New York, Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles, while BearingPoint has a base in Chicago.
Outside of the US, BearingPoint and ABeam Consulting will also cooperate to cover Canada and Latin America, in part leveraging a working relationship BearingPoint has with Argentina-headquartered Globant (one of Latin America’s leading homegrown players).
In a statement, the two companies emphasized that teaming up will enable them to provide “more close-in support for business transformation needs” and a service that “closely considers the specific business environment, management agendas and business practices” of the 30+ different and diverse countries in the Americas region.
In support their joint model, BearingPoint and ABeam Consulting will establish Local Practices in the Americas, providing the capabilities, people, and technologies necessary to drive transformational work at clients.

At a global level
Meanwhile, at a global level supporting the full span of their cooperation, the consultancies will establish Centers of Excellence for business innovation and transformation in multiple nearshore locations, and Global Capability Centers in India.
Together, BearingPoint and ABeam Consulting have more than 14,000 consultants and staff. They partner with most of the world’s best known technology vendors.
“This expanded global structure will enable seamless business transformation services across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, with enhanced capabilities in digital transformation and global delivery,” noted Loebich.
Takahiro Yamada, President and CEO of ABeam Consulting, added: “Through the reinforcement of our collaboration with BearingPoint, with whom we have built a unique relationship of trust, and through establishing a new organisational structure, we will provide our clients all over the world with truly seamless, consistent consulting services with high added value.”
