Alpine names Devoteam its AI Consulting Partner for endurance racing
Racing company Alpine has named global IT consultancy firm Devoteam as the Official AI Consulting Partner of its endurance racing business.
Founded in 1955 in France, Alpine is brand of sports cars. The company, which is nowadays part of Renaut, has a rich history in motorsport, including winning the World Rally Championship and Le Mans 24 Hours. Alpine currently competes in several racing competitions, such as Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship.
The partnership with Devoteam will see the consulting firm help Alpine’s Endurance Team explore how AI-driven decision-making can help its team make sharper decisions and race faster. The goal is to enhance strategic decisions using machine learning, generative AI, and computer vision.
Both Alpine and Devoteam see considerable potential for improving performance with AI in endurance racing, which is one of the most demanding disciplines in motorsport. Cars can reach speeds of over 330 km/h and at the time need high reliability to come through races that can last up to 24 hours.
To help AI do its magic, Alpine will place more than 300 sensors on its race cars, generating a large quantity of data. This data will then be analysed by a team of 60+ engineers. Consultants from Devoteam will support this process, from technical design and build through to data analysis.
From France to the world

The partnership will be led by Devoteam’s French business, which is headquarters in Paris. The partnership will however have a global scope, with the two companies to working together across the different races on the FIA World Endurance Championship. The next race is in the United States early September, followed by races in Japan and Bahrein.
