Projective Group achieves major sustainability and ESG milestones
Projective Group has achieved two major ESG milestones. The financial services consultancy has become a partner of the United Nations Global Compact and awarded a Bronze medal by EcoVadis.
The international consulting group, which has more than 1,100 staff in six European financial services hubs, has been committed to sustainability and social responsibility since its early days
In the area of sustainability, Projective Group is working towards the goal of achieving net zero across all emission scopes by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement. When it comes to ESG, the firm has a progressive ESG strategy in place and embedded ESG policies across its business practices.
In a further commitment to ESG, Projective Group has become a member of the United Nations Global Compact initiative, the world's largest corporate sustainability and social responsibility initiative.
The Belgium-headquartered firm joins around 17,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories across 160 countries, all dedicated to taking actions that advance societal goals in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Signatories commit to implementing the UN’s 10 principles (focus on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption, among others) and issuing a public declaration of their commitment. In turn, the United Nation offers training, peer-networks and a functional framework to aid in meeting objectives.
Meanwhile, in recognition of the progress Projective Group has already made in reducing its carbon footprint, EcoVadis has handed the firm a Bronze medal.
EcoVadis is the world’s largest provider of business sustainability ratings. EcoVadis assesses the performance of companies on 21 sustainability criteria across four key themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
More than 120,000 companies around the world have been assessed by Ecovadis, with Projective Group notably placed in the top 16% of performers in the management consulting sector.
Commenting on the milestone, Stefan Dierckx, CEO of Projective Group said: “We are dedicated to becoming a force for good and have full support from our board. It won’t be easy, but together with our partners, employees, and wider communities, we are fully behind our ambitious sustainability goals as there is no question that it is the right thing to do.”
Practice what you preach
Will Thomas, ESG and Sustainable Finance Lead at Projective Group, said that the recognitions also cement the firm’s status as a trusted sustainability advisor to its clients. “Over the last couple of years, we have seen a significant increase in client demand for ESG and sustainable finance services as a direct result of regulations including the CSRD and SFDR.”
“Through activities such as EcoVadis and commitments to net zero and the UN Global Compact, we are demonstrating that we are on the journey with our clients and take our own environmental and social impact very seriously.”
Projective Group was founded in 2006. In October last year, the firm adopted its current name and brand identity following the integration of several acquisitions it had closed over the years.
