Baker Tilly expands presence in Poland and launches new arm
The Polish member firm of Baker Tilly has acquired an assurance and consulting team from rival Moore Stephens, lifting its headcount in the country to over 270 professionals.
Last month, the TPA Poland, which is Baker Tilly’s representative firm in the country, convinced Moore Stephens’ Central Audit Team to join its ranks. The deal saw two partners join Baker Tilly’s leadership, taking its total in Poland to four across offices in Warsaw, Katowice and Poznań.
Monika Tuzimek has been appointed a partner in the Audit and Business Advisory divisions, while fellow partner Iga Kwaśny has been assigned to the Accounting and Payroll Outsourcing divisions. “The addition of Monika, Iga and their teams will not only allow us to broaden our range of services and industry specialisations, but also to significantly increase our organisational effectiveness,” said Krzysztof Horodko, managing partner of TPA Poland.
Wojciech Sztuba, another managing partner of TPA Poland added; “This move improves the range of our advisory competencies and, at the same time, increases our capacity for technological transformation.”Commenting on why they decided to carve-out from Moore Stephens and join a rival firm, Tuzimek and Kwaśny pointed at the strong match in competencies, the similar organisational culture and the added opportunities which can be unlocked under the Baker Tilly umbrella. “We are delighted to be able to join a company developing as dynamically as TPA Poland.”
New service line
Hot on the heels of the inorganic expansion, Baker Tilly Poland has launched a new service line. The new TPA Real Estate Services wing provides agency and investment advisory services in the area of commercial real estate, valuation, financing and refinancing. The focus is on clients in the commercial and residential real estate sectors.
At the helm of the wing are Wojciech Doliński, a longstanding associate of TPA Poland, and Michaeł Sternicki, who has been hired externally. Doliński has to date in his career been involved with real estate transactions totalling approximately PLN30bn across Poland, Germany and the CEE Region, specialising in commercial properties and development land. Sternicki has a track record of over 20 years in the field of real estate financing, commercial real estate development, acquisitions, investments, and project financing gained in Poland, Germany and the UK.
“In collaboration with TPA Poland's transaction, tax, legal and financial teams, TPA Real Estate Services will be able to create unique added value for clients,” stated Doliński.
