Top consultants for e-business services in the Netherlands
New research among nearly 1,500 decision makers in the Netherlands has identified the top consulting firms to work with in the e-business landscape.
Based on an assessment of four criteria – knowledge/know-how, price versus quality mix, reputation and reliability, and flexibility in offerings and services – researchers at Emerce created a list of the most in-demand consulting firms in the country. These consultancies stand out from the rest in the areas of e-business, digital marketing, ecommerce, omnichannel, online strategy and sales & marketing.
Tied in first place are the Dutch arms of global strategy consulting firms Bain & Company and Boston Consulting Group (BCG). They are joined at the top by SparkOptimus, a Dutch-origin consulting firm founded by two former McKinsey & Company consultants and dedicated to digital transformation.
The recognition of BCG and SparkOptimus sees them extend their top of mind positioning in the Dutch landscape, having been atop the list last year as well. Meanwhile, for Bain & Company the news is a novelty for its local wing – the firm did not feature in the past two editions of the consultancy ranking.
The top ten is completed by a cohort of consulting firms with different backgrounds. The complete Big Four of Deloitte (including Deloitte Digital), EY, PwC and KPMG is represented, with EY the top ranked of the quartet. EY outperforms its arch rivals thanks to its double recognition in the ranking, as subsidiary EY VODW, formed in July 2018 when EY acquired VODW, also made the prestigious cut.
McKinsey & Company, which has a large sales & marketing practice in the Netherlands and several solutions geared at the e-business realm, completes the presence of the ‘MBB’ in the list – together the MBB (McKinsey, BCG and Bain) are by a distance the world’s largest strategy consulting firms.
Accenture has also been lauded by Dutch clients, serving its e-business customers through its Accenture Strategy, Accenture Digital and Accenture Interactive divisions. Rounding off the Netherlands’ list of top consulting firms for e-business services are local players Boer & Croon and DigitalWorks.
