Inverto enters Spanish market with new office in Madrid
Inverto has added a next chapter to its European expansion journey with the launch of a new office in Madrid.
The entry into Spain means Inverto is now active in ten countries, with the new Spanish team joining existing line-ups in Germany (headquarters), Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Sweden.
A subsidiary of the Boston Consulting Group, Inverto specialises in strategic procurement and supply chain services. The firm’s 400 staff guide companies from strategy development through to implementation, and also supports them with the digitisation of their operations and value chains.
Pelayo Losada, Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group in Spain, welcomed the launch of the subsidiary, stating: “Our clients are facing significant challenges from supply chain disruptions, price increases and inflation as well as new requirements from sustainability, innovation and risk mitigation. With the Inverto team now complementing our Operations team, we will be able to provide our clients with even better support going forward.”
Leading the setup and expansion of Inverto’s Spanish arm is Manuel Berlanga, who brings 20+ years of experience in industry and consulting to the firm. He joins Inverto from Globality, a provider of sourcing technology, where he was a senior director focused on customer success in Europe.
Before that, he held several leadership roles in procurement, and served McKinsey & Company and Miebach Consulting. During his time in the consulting industry, Berlanga worked on several procurement transformations across multiple sectors including banking, energy, pharmaceutical, consumer goods and engineering.
On his new challenge, Berlanga said, “Inverto has achieved remarkable growth in recent years due to its strategic and genuine transformative capabilities. I look forward to now becoming part of this success story and helping to drive further expansion.”
Daniel Weise, CEO of Inverto, commented, “Manuel brings deep global procurement and operations experience and will be a great leader for our team in Madrid. I am excited to welcome him to the Inverto team.”
Outside of Europe, Inverto is also active in China, with going stateside the next ambition – a new office in Chicago is currently in the makes.
With the addition of Inverto, Boston Consulting Group now serves the Spanish market with three labels: (namesake Boston Consulting Group for strategy consulting services), Inverto (procurement and supply chain), and BCG X (digital and incubation services).
BCG BrightHouse does not have a base in Spain, but serves its clients in the market through its teams in Berlin, Paris, and Milan. Quantis, a sustainability consultancy acquired in September last year, applies a similar fly-in approach for its local engagements in Spain.
