For the eighth year in a row, the Polish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (PSIK) is celebrating the country’s top strategic consulting firms for M&A services.
Established in 2018, the Nagrody PSIK Awards recognize private equity and venture capital funds managers, advisors, banks and law firms for their excellence and achievements in Poland’s private equity landscape. In total, awards are handed out in 13 categories, of which three are geared at the consulting sector.
The category ‘Strategic and Commercial Advisor’ recognizes the role consultancies play in shaping M&A strategies in the pre-deal and post-deal phase, and for their expertise in conducting the commercial due diligence. This year, four companies have been named finalists: Arthur D. Little, Bain & Company, Deloitte, and OC&C Strategy Consultants.
The nomination of Arthur D. Little was based on almost 20 transactions its Polish team worked on 2024, with the total value of these deals exceeding €5 billion across industries such as technology, energy, telecommunications, media, e-commerce, retail, and fintech.
Bain & Company, which has won the last five editions of the award, thanks its recognition for the 25+ strategic and commercial projects it delivered overt the year 2024 for funds and their portfolio companies in the Central Eastern European region. The team has worked with both local and global clients throughout the deal cycle – ranging from investment strategy and commercial due diligence (assessing targets with a total value >€20 billion) to post-acquisition strategy.
Over the twelve months of 2024, the M&A team of Deloitte supported many transactions, with several including a strategic and commercial component, including the sale of Sportano shares to bValue. The firm’s M&A team is at the time of writing working on six transactions in Poland, of which four are classified as relatively big deals.
Over the 12-month assessment period, OC&C Strategy Consultants supported its private equity clients in Poland on around 15 projects across the full investment cycle – from asset identification, through commercial due diligence, transaction support, the development of growth strategy and value creation plans, all the way to exit. One major deal was supporting Żabka and CVC in the process of taking Żabka public.
And the winner is…
The winner of the Strategic and Commercial Advisor will be unveiled on June 9, at an Awards Gala in Warsaw. The only time Bain & Company was not crowned the winner was in 2019, when Boston Consulting Group took home the coveted prize.
The two other categories for consultants are ‘M&A Advisor’, with Deloitte, PwC, Rothschild & Co and Trigon the 2025 finalists, and ‘Financial & Tax Advisor’, with Deloitte, EY and PwC the finalists.
