BrazilBearingPoint hires sustainability strategy team in Finland
BearingPoint has beefed up its sustainability capabilities in the Nordics with the hire of a team from Korkia, a Helsinki-based investment and advisory company.
The move sees an undisclosed team (roughly 20 consultants according to our estimate) join BearingPoint’s Helsinki office, and broader Scandinavian team that also operates out of Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.

Founded in 2006, Korkia is a private equity investment firm specialised in companies that drive sustainability in three main verticals: energy, natural resources, and transport & mobility. The firm is particularly known for its investments in solar energy, which helped Korkia earn the reputation of “Finland’s sunniest asset manager”. Over the past five years alone, the firm has helped fund and deliver more than 30 renewable energy power plants in Europe and Latin America.
Korkia’s consulting team specialises in helping sustainable-focused companies with commercial growth and expanding their footprint and products. Key offerings include growth strategy, scenario planning, market entry, new business development, and ecosystem development.
Now under the BearingPoint umbrella, “we will keep on focusing on our core offerings and keep moving on the same track we have been for the last few years,” said Pauli Mäenpää, CEO at Korkia.
“Korkia’s expertise in the sustainability field is a perfect fit – strategically and culturally – for BearingPoint and will enhance our already excellent skills in those areas. The move comes within months of the acquisition of I Care, a France-headquartered sustainability consultancy with over 80 staff in France and Brazil.

With over 5,000 staff in Europe and beyond, BearingPoint’s is one of the globe’s larger management and technology consultancies. The Nordics has traditionally been a key market for the firm. It was in the early 1990’s when BearingPoint initial heritage was incepted (then as part of Arthur Andersen), and over the past 30+ years the region has remained a stronghold market for the now independent consultancy.
